About

Gang Show had its beginning in England in 1932 by a young Rover Scout, Ralph Reader. He was already a famous and sought after Broadway choreographer when he wrote and staged the first Gang Show, under the title The Gang’s all here, to raise money for his local swimming pool.

His show was instantly recognized by Baden-Powell as a great additional to the Scouting movement and encouraged him to continue writing and producing shows. Reader did so and went on to establish the world famous London Gang Show as well as writing words and music to hundreds of songs and sketches, including the infamous “We’re riding along on the crest of a wave” in 1934.

Local groups to large cities such as Edinburgh, Adelaide and Connecticut now perform gang Shows all over the World. Read the Wikkipeadia entry for Gang Shows (link) Another Google fact – it is said that their is a Gang Show performing somewhere in the world almost every day of the year!
